Purchasing

Possession
Medical marijuana patients can possess up to two and a half ounces. Recreational marijuana consumers can possess up to one ounce of marijuana with no more than five grams being concentrates/extracts.
Taxes
Recreational users will be highly taxed, this tax is called excise tax and it is taxed at 16 percent, including Arizona standard taxes this rate is increased to 24.7% on all cannabis purchases, Medical card holders are not subject to this excise tax.
Cultivation
Medical marijuana patients can grow marijuana under specific rules to include each patient can grow up to 12 plants. Recreational marijuana can be grown by persons 21 or older, but cultivation is regulated to six cannabis plants per individual’s primary residence.
Potency
Recreational users are limited in potency when purchasing. No more than 10mg THC per serving per edible up to 100 mg or 100 mg per package can be purchased and a Limit of 5 grams of Concentrate per purchase. Medical Card Holders are not limited in potency and are able to purchase any potency or form of consumption.
Age
Recreational users must be 21 Years of age to consume, whilst Medical card holders have no age limitations as long as they legally hold a medical card.
Waiting
Demand for recreational marijuana will be very high, so most dispensaries will likely create separate lines for medical marijuana patients and recreational consumers to purchase marijuana. In several states that have Medical and Recreational purchasers, the medical patient takes priority.
Workplace
Legalization of recreational use does not govern how employers, landlords, and independent agencies handle or carry out their policies. Companies and independent agencies can enforce and deny services based on cannabis consumption. Under 207, employers can discriminate however they want, But they cannot fire someone (with a medical card) for a positive test. They can only take action against them if they are impaired at the workplace or are in possession of medical marijuana in the workplace. Protect yourself legally by having your medical card.
